Muizenberg was buzzing this weekend with blue skies, half-decent surf, and the first Western Province trial for the SA championships. It was quite a paddle to the back line, but the surfers accomplished it with style. There were some happy moments, some sad moments, and some funny moments. One funny moment was Mark Tennison rocking up in the car park as his heat was starting. That being said, he won both his heats and is currently leading his division. Our very own Gary Kleynhans was styling on Sunday and he, too, won both his heats in his division. We would love to post all of the rankings on the website, but we have not received them yet. SA Champs will be in St. Francis this year from April 26th to May 1st.

If you want to compete to make the Western Province team it is not too late. Your two best trials will count to determine your place on the team. So make the next two trials and surf your buns off and you should be golden.
